The two main factors
that decide correct thruster sizing are:
• The boat owner’s performance
requirements
• Boat size, type and shape
Side-Power supplies many of the world’s
largest boat builders and has produced engineering studies
and recommendations for many different boat models.
Please call and speak to one of our technical representatives
who will be able to establish which Side-Power unit
is currently being supplied to your boat builder. We
also have a wide range of experience in which thrusters
have worked well in our previous installations.
We will take the guesswork out of
choosing a thruster for your boat. A good way to start
the process is to use the sizing charts shown below.
A thruster should be chosen so that it is not at its
practical limit for the length of a boat e.g.: for a
42’ boat the 95Ti would be a better choice than
the 75Ti. It’s a good idea to have some power
in reserve, especially if you anticipate using your
boat on windy days or in strong currents.
